On the other hand, the health benefits of “Raw” chocolate (that which is minimally-processed and kept at low temperatures), are less well publicized, but no less important. Put these two antioxidant superpowers together and you’ve got a satisfying and healthy treat.&lt;br /&gt;The flaxseeds also act as a kind of binder and thickener so that you can create a thick shake that will keep all those beautiful cocoa nibs suspended.&lt;br /&gt;Now, flaxseeds are shelf stable in whole form, but due to their oil content, will eventually go rancid after they are ground open.  So I recommend that you only grind as much as you need for a week or so and then keep what you don’t use in a tightly-closed container in the refrigerator.  The cacao nibs should be finely ground just before use in order to release the  natural fruity flavor and aroma of cacao.&lt;br /&gt;The Mega Omega-3 “Raw” Chocolate Shake&lt;br /&gt;What you’ll need:&lt;br /&gt;2 Tablespoons organic flaxseed (unroasted). Roasted seeds can be used instead to give a more nutty taste, but I prefer the lighter, more natural flavor of the unroasted seeds.&lt;br /&gt;3 Tablespoons finely ground cacao &lt;a href="http://www.newleafchocolates.com/Taza-Organic-Roasted-Cacao-Nibs-5008.htm"&gt;nibs&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;1 cup organic low-fat vanilla yogurt&lt;br /&gt;1 ½ cups frozen organic blueberries (if you use fresh blueberries, then add an extra ½ cup of ice).&lt;br /&gt;1 cup organic soy milk (you may substitute regular low fat milk or almond milk)&lt;br /&gt;1 cup ice cubes&lt;br /&gt;2 tablespoons honey&lt;br /&gt;A blender&lt;br /&gt;Preparation&lt;br /&gt;Grind the flaxseed in a coffee mill for about 10 seconds.  Press your finger into the seeds after grinding – you should not feel any hard shells. Grind the cacao nibs in a coffee grinder for 15 – 20 seconds.  Some people claim success grinding nibs in the blender before any other wet ingredients are added, but my opinion is that this is not good for your blender.  Add everything to the blender and blend until the blueberries are no longer whole.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://kokobuzz.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/kai-omega3-557.jpg"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kai likes it!&lt;br /&gt;Serving&lt;br /&gt;Fill tall glasses and float some nibs (virgin, not finely ground) and a few blueberries on top.  Enjoy and ask yourself: “do I feel healthy yet?”&lt;br /&gt;Variations&lt;br /&gt;•  Use 8 pitted dates instead of the blueberries.  They complement the chocolate well with an understated sweetness.•  Use frozen pitted dark cherries instead of blueberries. They taste just as yummy (but can be difficult to find organic).•  Vegan version: leave out the yogurt and replace it with ½ cup coconut milk. Vad vill du helst inte vara utan utav dessa 3 saker,&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Du får välja mellan choklad, sex och alkohol.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Enkäten administrerades av Leger Marketing för Aero i Kanada.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Den resulterade i en del mkt intressanta saker, ffa skillnaden på kvinnors och mäns val.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Bland männnen framstod behovet att ha sex 5 ggr viktigare än att få äta sin choklad dagligen, och ca 4 ggr viktigare än att få dricka alkohol närhelst det lockade.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Hos kvinnor var behovet att få äta sin dagliga choklad till och med en aning större än det sexuella behovet.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Vad gäller alkohol så var det bara var femte kvinna som kände att det var viktigare än att kunna ha sex när andan faller på.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Enkäten visar också att 49% av männen ansåg sig vara bra på att göra flera saker samtidigt, men det höll 68% av kvinnorna inte med om.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Däremot tyckte 85% av kvinnorna att de själva är duktiga på simultankapacitet.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Något som i sin tur 61% av männen instämde de la Vera Cruz, upptäckte Cortés en dryck, som  Aztekerna kallade ”xocoatl” och som tillagades av kakaobönor. Med lite god vilja  kan man få Aztekernas ”xocoatl” att på svenska och många andra språk i direkt  översättning bli ”choklad, chocolate, schokolade, chocolat ” etc.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;…att kakao fungerade som valuta&lt;/strong&gt;-&lt;br /&gt;Redan på 1000-talet hade  kakaobönor använts som betalningsmedel och var en eftertraktad bytesvara i hela  Centralamerika.&lt;br /&gt;Det fanns, när Cortés anlände till Aztekerriket, listor på  varor och tjänster med priser angivna i kakaobönor. Även skatt erlades med denna  ”myntenhet”.&lt;br /&gt;Det sägs att aztekernas siste härskare, kung Montezuma, hade ett  lager om nära 1.000 ton torkade kakaobönor, en ofantlig förmögenhet.&lt;br /&gt;Med  tanke på att kakaobönorna användes som betalningsmedel är det lätt att förstå  att drycken inte heller dracks av vem som helst i landet utan främst av en grupp  chokladälskare i Montezumas närmaste krets.&lt;br /&gt;Det var ju i princip ”pengar” som  dracks. Blanda alla torra ingredienser och sikta ned dem i äggblandningen. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Smält smör och tillsätt vatten. Tillsätt det till äggblandningen och rör försiktigt. Grädda i smord och bröad 2-litersform i 175 grader i 30-35 minuter. Låt kakan kallna på ett sockrat smörpapper. Dela den i 2 bottnar. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bred aprikosmarmelad på den undre bottnen och lägg den andra ovanpå. Smält choklad och margarin i vattenbad och bred det ovanpå och runt om. presenterade forskare vid Karolinska institutet en studie bland 1 169 patienter med slutsatsen att den som redan har haft en hjärtinfarkt hade mindre risk att drabbas av en ny inom en åttaårsperiod om han eller hon åt choklad några gånger i veckan. Läkarna och forskarna bakom den studien betonade dock vikten av mer forskning innan slutsatserna kan tas för sanning. (TT) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Den som suktar efter påskchokladen kan känna sig nöjd med nya resultat från tyska forskare. Deras studie pekar mot att choklad kan sänka blodtrycket och minska risken för igenproppade blodkärl. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;De som åt mest choklad i studien, i genomsnitt 7,5 gram om dagen vilket motsvarar ungefär en ruta, hade lägre blodtryck och 39 procent lägre risk att drabbas av hjärtinfarkt eller stroke, jämfört med personer som åt minst choklad, mindre än 2 gram dagligen. Sambandet var starkast för stroke, enligt studien som publiceras i medicintidskriften European Heart Journal. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stor studie &lt;br /&gt;Tyska forskare följde nästan 19 400 personer, 35–65 år, inom ramen för den stora europeiska EPIC-studien som egentligen syftar till att hitta samband mellan livsstilsfaktorer och cancer. Under några år i mitten och slutet av 1990-talet fick deltagarna svara på en rad frågor, bland annat om sina kostvanor. De vägdes och mättes och deras blodtryck kontrollerades. Åtta år senare hade 166 personer i gruppen drabbats av infarkt och 136 av stroke, och när forskarna hade kontrollerat för riskfaktorer som rökning och ålder kvarstod chokladen som det som skiljde grupperna åt. Det är fruktansvärt hur barnen som råkar ut för detta blir behandlade. För mig är det viktigt att välja choklad där jag kan härleda ursprunget. Då har jag själv mer kontroll över det jag handlar och det jag stödjer. &lt;br /&gt;Det är ingen lätt fråga att ta tag i. I alla fall i EU-länderna. Nu finns den första standardiserade metoden som ska avslöja tillverkare som bluffar om innehållet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;EU-länderna står för halva världskonsumtionen av choklad, och bristen på analysverktyg har lett till konflikter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Få vet att EU har ett chokladdirektiv (2003/36/EC). Enligt det får högst fem procent av chokladen utgöras av vegetabiliska fetter, som inte är kakaosmör. En stor fråga för mig är ekologiskt och fairtrade. Tänk vad lite det kostar dig och mig som bor här i Sverige att handla ekologiskt. Tänk vad mkt det kostar dem som arbetar på kakaoplantagen om odlingen inte är ekologiskt. Det finns så mkt gifter på dessa oekologiska plantage. Gör det där lilla extra och hjälp dig själv plus dina medmänniskor.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jag kom i kontakt med Pacari via Ecuadors ambassad som kontaktade mig och visade mig olika chokladmärken från Ecuador. De undrade om jag var intresserad av något av märkena.&lt;br /&gt;De sa inget om kvaliteten.&lt;br /&gt;Jag fick smaka och jämförde sorterna. Oaooo...&lt;br /&gt;Det var ett mkt enkelt val. Pacari var och är riktigt outstanding. Jag ringde till Santiago direkt och han kom till Stockholm och Sverige dagen efter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Första mötet:&lt;br /&gt;Vi satt på ambassaden i flera timmar och pratade och jämförde choklad. Fortsättning följer!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Santiago kom ända från Ecuador. Han arbetar mer än ekologiskt och mer än fairtrade. Så fantastiskt hur hans arbete sköts. Detta får han inte betalt för, utan han gör det på sin fritid som han inte har.
